PostSubject: Emiko Nasatora   Emiko Nasatora EmptyFri Jul 02, 2010 2:20 pm

Basic Information

Name: Emiko Nasatora

Actual Age: 194

Appeared Age: 16

Gender: Female

Division: 3rd

Rank: Lieutenant

Looks: No picture; what I can provide you with is a detailed three paragraphs.

A rather simple way to describe Emiko's face is one word: sleepy. There seems to be a perpetually tired look on the teenage-looking girl's face. She has a confidant aura around her despite this, which is somewhat comical considering how small she is for how old she looks. She stands at around 5'1" and weighs around 105 lbs, two facts that she laments somewhat. Her hair is allowed to hang loose and is obviously not combed; her hair reaches down to her mid-back and she has some bangs in the front. As for the color of her eyes and hair, her eye color is sea blue, while her hair is black.

Her body appears small, and slim, but more often than not, that is used to her advantage. She does her best to appear like a lazy person most of the times; she's found this gets her out of work a lot. Whenever she isn't exuding her confidant aura, she tries to look rather lazy, and to good success too, since this trick has worked at least twice. She wears a small accessory, draped around her neck. She barely remembers what it is, but she does know that it was a keepsake of her parents and, apparently, she had snatched it before she had moved onto the Soul Society. For now, she just believes that it's jewelry.

Finally, her uniform; it could best be described as rumpled, stepped on, attempt to fix, then rumpled and stepped on again. That is how her uniform looks and, generally, each time she tries to fix it, it ends up looking worse than it did in the first place. In the end, she gave up trying to fix it herself and just found someone else to do it. Also, unlike other Shinigami, she took some time to try and change the uniform a bit, tearing some holes here and there to try making it look a bit more frightening than it does. For now, she doesn't know if her attempt at doing this succeeded or not, having gotten no such feedback as of yet.

Personality: Before she died, Emiko could have been described as an open book. She had a rather time hiding her emotions from others and more often than not, when she tried to hide her emotions like this, she would fail rather miserably. However, due to her 'open book' nature, she was able to gain plenty of friends for the few years that she lived. Due to this, she never really got picked on a lot and, in the rare case that she did get picked on, she had no idea how to react. Her instinct was to run away, but of course this would mean that just more would come. So, whenever she had been confronted with bullies, she usually chose to fight them. Often, this caused her friends to claim they didn't know her, and silently hurt her.

Over time, her personality started to shift slightly. She lost friends and grew rather anti-social, lashing out, often for no reason at all. She would claim that this was caused by family issues and she was just relieving pent-up stress; however, this is a lie. The real reason was that she was starting to view her peers as beneath her, petty. She thought she recognized that they were bad and drifted away from them, even if they only had one small fault. She never realized that she was a hypocrite and just kept on going on with this practice. It was even so extreme that she would have been willing to completely refuse the help of another person; she would have assumed that said person had ulterior motives in mind than just helping her with something.

After she died, she recognized that she was just as petty as everyone else and abandoned that old personality. While before she was prone to lashing out, now she's just plain...cold. If insulted or anything of the sort, she won't make a retort, and she is almost never to be seen with a smile on her face either. In battle, her personality doesn't change that much, she is still as cold, but ruthlessness rears its face in her attacks. She is prone to being goaded into attacking but, even so, she almost always recognizes when she is being goaded.

While personal affairs are rare for her, they still have happened, and in those rare circumstances, she actually allows herself to lighten up a little bit. She reverts a bit back to her very first personality, that of an 'open book'. Of course, over the years, she has learned to control this fact and so now, it is rare to be able to read her emotions easily. She is a bit more friendly and conversational under these circumstances. The values that she holds close to her heart that no one knows are bravery, determination, and confidence. She believes that without these properties, you can't succeed at anything and will be doomed to stay weak. Also, she sympathizes a little with the shinigamis of the soul society that aren't fortunate enough to have gotten into the Gotei 13, even though some of her colleagues don't.

Finally, although her appearance might not show it, she can be intelligent at times, like the Captain of squad 1 is. She is usually respectful to the other captains, and tries to treat others fairly, though at times she lets her feelings get in the way of that. Finally, though she shouldn't, she often goes off fighting hollows by herself, even if other, weaker shinigami would be able to handle it.

Sexuality: Straight

Relationship Status: Single and not looking

Zanpakuto Information
Zanpakuto Name: Isiku

Zanpakuto Looks: (Following text is clickable) A battle-worn, time-tested blade that looks like it is seeking blood and vengance. Other than that, this blade is pretty average. The blade itself has various knicks and scratches on it, mostly from the numerous battles that Emiko has had to face. Compared to Emiko, the blade is pretty long, being, at the least, half the size of herself; it also has a rather good grip.

Released Zanpakuto Description:

Quote :
Sealing: Dark Fog
What Emiko's ability does is basically mess with how the reiatsu of spiritual beings works. It's pretty unpredictable, but often, this cloud either disrupts an opponent's ability to perform any spiritual based attacks or just impair them. The fog also has the ability to blind opponents as well, or at least impair their ability to see. This ability can work on opponents stronger than her, although the stronger they are, the less they would be impaired by this ability. The lower an enemy's strength, the better this works. Do note that she is not affected much by this part of her ability because she has trained to become accustomed to it.

For a person with the same strength as her, the fog will not have a disadvantage nor have an advantage; The opponent will be able to see about 70% of the time and the effects their abilities have will be reduced to 75% of their normal efficiency. If they're a little stronger, the fog will be impaired a bit and the person will see about 85% of the time, while their abilities effects' will go to 85% efficiency. Finally, for a person much stronger, the fog will almost not be in effect, the person will be able to see nearly all the time and their reiatsu is unlikely to be affected.

If a person is a little weaker than her, they will be able to see about 50% of the time and their abilities are reduced to 50% of their normal strength. If the person facing her is much weaker than her, they will see about 30% of the time, and their abilities are dropped to 35% efficiency. Note that all of this only applies if reiatsu is involved in the technique, physical attacks and such will still work.

In bankai, her dark fog ability will now be able to have some effect on opponents quite stronger than her, and it gains an additional effect; the speed of opponents is almost cut in half. Furthermore, she can now force the dark fog to explode; an opponent could also possible lose an arm, or a leg.

False Realm

Duration: 1-4 posts, 2-5 in Bankai(relative to strength of opponent)
Effect: Emiko gathers darkness in physical form and it is shaped into a sphere of sorts, then this sphere is thrown at the opponent; in case it misses, it is also able to track whom it was thrown at. Once hit with the sphere, an opponent will begin to see things; usually copies of themselves or people they know, and if Emiko has access to the information, dead loved ones. For sounds, they usually hear screaming and torment, again, a dead loved one's voice too if she has the information. As for smell, usually it's of decaying bodies. In Bankai form, this effect is amplified; for example, if you see something and touch it, it won't just go through your fingers like smoke. Also, how long it lasts also goes up. Do note that it's possible to destroy the sphere before it hits you.

Leaping Tendrils

Duration: Until the opponent destroys them; usually around 1 or 2 turns due to how weak they are.
Effect: Emiko lets out a blast of darkness into the sky, and then a blast of darkness towards the ground. Then a moment later, many things that resemble chains come out of the darkness and latches onto the opponent, slowing them down for a while. Also, they can act as a lesser version of her ability to explode her Dark Fog in Bankai; in this case, they would most likely cause a wound in between minor and major. Note that, like the sphere, it's possible to destroy these, though they would actually try to leap out of the way.

Biting Jumps

Duration: 1 post of the opponent's
Effect: Darkness imbues itself into the zanpakutou of Emiko; Emiko then rushes up to the opponent and strikes them five times in different areas of the body, jumping over the opponent after each strike just in case. The last one causes the opponent to suffer from effects similar to poison. Their senses will be dulled, they won't be able to concentrate as well, and they will feel a nagging pain in their stomach.

Zanpakuto Release Phrase: Reap vengeance, Isiku.

Released Zanpakuto Looks: When her shikai is released, the blade seems to shatter, and the pieces float in the air for just a moment. Then, after this, the pieces move over to Emiko's hands and start forming around them. When this is over, the time it takes is generally half a second or less, there are knuckles on her hands made out of her zanpakutou. Furthermore, the remaining pieces not used to make the knuckles fit right onto the gloves, adding spikes to it.

Spirit Description: Unlike the tired looking Emiko, Isiku looks peppy and upbeat, the exact opposite of Emiko. She always tries to look at the positive side and pretty much doesn't like boring people and, as such, searches for fun whenever possible. As for the clothes, she wears a blue dress with frilly, pink ribbons in her hair. Finally, there seems to be a permanent smile etched onto her face. Speaking of which, her eye color is green, while her hair color is silver. Obviously enough, she wears her hair long, unlike Emiko.

Inner World: Again, completely opposite to Emiko's personality, her inner world is filled with all kinds of beautiful things, and full of nature. Flowers are everywhere in it, trees are growing up to the sky, which is a vibrant blue, and the grass looks a very beautiful shade of green. The water in this place is also beautiful in color and delicious food also grows in this realm.

Bankai Information

Bankai Description:

Quote :
Final Song

Duration: Instant
Effect: This is easily the most strongest attack in her arsenal, despite the fact that it is also one of her few ranged attacks. This attack isn't that different from her Dark Fog ability at first, having the same effects and abilities in the first few moments. After those moments are up though, the fog starts to flow towards the opponent, and gather around them, surrounding them in darkness. Then, the shadows within the darkness start to lash out and repeatedly strike blindly at the opponent; generally, this lasts for about 30 seconds, less if the opponent can fight it off. When reiatsu levels start increasing around the condensed darkness, it scatters and goes to the ground, still surrounding the opponent, then proceeds to blow up. They take on the traits, somewhat, of her shadow waltz at this point; If one explosion hits, the tendrils of darkness leap up and explode near where the opponent is, again juggling him in the air.

Piercing Rhapsody

Duration: Instant-3 turns depending on if opponent is hit (2 uses)
Effect: This time, darkness isn't apparent in this attack at all. Emiko rushes up to the opponent and, right before she thrusts towards her opponent, darkness gathers in whatever hand is going to be thrust and, when thrust, darkness rushes out. This attack is capable of traveling around 5-10 feet in the direction that it is thrust and can enter into the ground as well, so this means that she can miss an opponent with a melee attack on purpose, shoot off the darkness into the ground, and have it attack them later. When it does strike, it will go straight towards the opponent's most vulnerable and open spot, whatever that might be, hence the name.

Infectious Dance

Duration: Instant (1 use)
Effect: Emiko is once again surrounded by darkness, but this time she moves towards the opponent and starts moving at a very fast speed. After she has judged that it's a safe time to strike, she shows herself for barely a fraction of a second before she lets loose a barrage of punches into the opponent's gut; the last punch letting off a stream of shadows. This stream of shadows, if it is able, will enter into the opponent's bloodstream through a cut, or if forced to, through another opening(mouth, ear, nose) and cause him/her to be sluggish, slow, and generally underpar for the duration of the fight.

Bankai Looks: In Bankai, her sword/knuckles change almost dramatically. Once again, the sword/knuckles appear to shatter. They fall to the ground in the hopes that the opponent will not notice them, then they will stick themselves onto Emiko's skin, basically covering her in armor from her zanpakutou. Also, spikes will portrude from various places of the armor, making it dangerous for anyone to attack her with melee.

History and RP Sample
History: Johnathan and Ai Nasatora were the names of Emiko's parents. One was an American, while the other was a Japanese. Emiko was born with high amounts of reiatsu; for some reason, people always felt odd around the young girl, but despite this, she made friends easily enough, her friendly personality helping in that manner. Even as a baby, she was as friendly as possible to others; it almost seemed like she already understood that relationships were important, even at that young of an age.

She developed well enough, and throughout her development, always talked to her parents about what was causing the stores nearby to be smashed in by something invisible, or she would often tell them about a ghost that she saw; she always saying that she felt bad that the ghost had to stay. The parents were rightfully concerned, but didn't think anything bad would come out of their daughter having an imagination. As she kept growing, Emiko noticed that her parents really didn't believe that she was telling the truth; in fact, she believed they thought she was lying.

So, with no one else to confide in, she turned to her friends and began talking to them. Unlike her parents, they were a little amused by what she was saying and at least listened to what she had to say, instead of dismissing it offhand without even telling her they didn't believe her. Then, her father found a better paying job and she was forced away from those friends willing to listen to her stories; even worse, her family moved to a big city, which she didn't like at all. The name of the city was Tokyo.

Now, she had no idea what her father's job was, but if she had to guess now, she'd have to say it had something to do with the government. Around the time that she moved to Tokyo, she noticed more and more of these 'ghosts' and she even once witnessed one being fought by a person. During that fight, she heard the person call the 'ghost' something; he had called it a hollow. The very next day at school, she heard that a man had been spotted talking to himself and waving a weapon around; the same man Emiko had seen. It was at this time that she discovered that not everyone could see these things, even though that should have been obvious when her parents didn't believe what she was telling them. She tried telling stories again in Tokyo, but unlike in her small town, here she was ignored again, just like with her parents.

It was at this time that her first personality change occurred; she grew aloof from everyone and stopped telling the stories that she was supposedly 'inventing'. She knew that she could see them, and yet the others could not. She figured that this must mean she was different from the others, and then she realized that she usually had an odd effect on people, she somehow made them nervous just by being there. This only served to further distance herself from others; if something was wrong with her and it made others nervous by being around her, she would distance herself from them.

She even went so far as to distance herself from her family, even though they didn't seem as affected. She didn't even let up when the news reached her that her mother had gotten pregnant. She wanted very much to see this at the time, but didn't right at the start. Only rarely would she converse with them, and even when she did this, it wasn't for very long; 5 to 15 minutes at the maximum.

Then, her mother died, during childbirth. Looking back on it, she realized that she had mixed feelings at the time. The woman who had given birth to her, the woman who had raised her and loved her, had died bringing a new life into this world. She resented the new baby, to be honest. Her...or rather, their father was forced to work more and more to enable the two of them to keep on living. The way she saw it, if the new baby hadn't been born, then her mother wouldn't have died and her father wouldn't be working every hour of the day. She just couldn't stand it anymore and one day, the baby 'mysteriously' disappeared while she was 'sleeping'. Her father, of course, questioned her and contacted the police, but nothing came out of it. The only lead led them to a dead end and they were forced to close the case, not having anyway to figure out what happened. She felt guilty, for a time, but she eventually got over this and live moved on for her. Over the years, her father grew even more haggard in appearance; the death of his wife and the disappearance of his new baby had not helped him at all and, just a short while after both of these events, he died as well, choosing to end his own life. Emiko took this all in stride and soon afterward, was unfortunately forced off onto the streets.

This death took a much more bigger effect on her than she let on though. She hadn't known the baby, but to think that killing the baby had led to her father dying..she was barely able to take it. Take it she did though; often enough she found herself just staring at the stars at the beach, wondering how things might have turned out if the baby had lived. Perhaps her father would have lived and they all would have been happy together, perhaps they wouldn't; she just wasn't able to tell. She knew she was risking her life by being out that late in Tokyo, but she just plain didn't care, she wasn't able to bear her father's death after a little while.

It was during one such walk that she actually encountered a hollow face to face, this time the thing was intending to come after her and completely devour her. She almost put up no resistance; in fact, she thought that such a death might be fitting. She had killed a child, no, a baby, and was a bit of a monster, so why not be killed by another monster. This was not to be though; someone came while the hollow was busy with her and quickly defeated the hollow. Right at the end of the battle though, the shinigami's sword had managed to get out of his hands and she scrambled for it. She found she wasn't able to pick it up; the shinigami, however, was able to. He probably picked it up intending to sheath it, but before he could do that, she ran herself forward on the sword.

So this is what death's like

First years

Upon entering the soul society, her high level of reiatsu was pretty evident, but it wasn't picked up on by the shinigami in the Seireitei. She lived in the Rukon District. She remembers plenty of games she played back then; hide and seek, tag, red rover, and other such kids games. Even here she didn't make much friends though, probably because of her charmingly cold personality that she gained upon her death. Oddly enough though, she felt closer to her adopted parents, brothers, and sisters than she ever did with her real family; this is probably due to the fact that her real family always doubted her and didn't seem to accept her altogether.

Her time in the Rukon district was pleasant and simple; nothing momentous really happened while she live there. Unlike most of the other kids, she didn't really seem to accept the way that the Rukon district was structured, with bullies seeming to be at the top, at least among the kids. She disapproved of this so much that she went so far as to go around and basically kick the ass of any gang leader she ran across.

This got pretty bad at one point when they finally got fed up with it and went out on a manhunt for her. Luckily for her, she was a rather good hider and wasn't found by them, but she shuddered to think what would have happened had she not hidden. She didn't really have the agility to dodge all the attacks that would have been thrown at her, nor would she have been able to withstand them in the slightest. In any case, she learned not to mess with every single gang leader ever again and so faded back into obscurity, just living out her life in the Rukon district. Sure, it was pretty boring, but at least it was safe and she wouldn't have to die a second time.

Start of a new life

Of course, such a thing was not to last for the young girl. Sure, everyone avoided her like the plague now and didn't want to get beat up, but it was so...lonely now. That was actually a new feeling for her, loneliness. She had experienced many things; anger, revenge, regret, sadness, but loneliness? She didn't know how to cope with this and as she was about to revert to her previous self of remaining aloof of everyone, her family, her new one, reached out to her this time and comforted her. This time, things had been different from before and she willingly accepted the comforting words of her family. Her bond with the adoptive family grew stronger and eventually she started to make excursions with her brothers and sisters to places that seemed odd. It was during one such occasion that a hollow showed up and, quick as a flash, ate the sibling that she was with at the time.

Now, the idea she had at the time was not very smart at all. What was that idea? Go ahead and punch that hollow. Of course, she attempted this, hit the hollow, and was promptly tossed to the side. It was only due to the swift arrival of a shinigami that she was saved. She, however, insisted that she could have taken care of the beast by herself. This, apparently, touched the shinigami somewhat, or at least that's what she figured, for she was led to the Soul Academy. She was given an offer; join them as a shinigami, or keep living her life as it was now. To her, the choice was obvious and she accepted the offer that she was given, joining the Soul Academy.

Training

The first thing that Emiko was told was that getting into the academy was not simple in the slightest. It wasn't like an academy in the human world, you couldn't just apply to the thing, be smart enough, and get in. You had to be exceptional in every way to join the Soul Academy, you had to have potential, and reiatsu; or, at least, that's what Emiko thinks that's what you had to be. Training was started almost instantly and to tell the truth, it was rather hard on Emiko; she could barely keep up with the rigorous training that she was put through and, more often than not, she wanted to quit and walk away from it all. the memory of that hollow killing her family member, however, spurred her on forward, and so, she never gave up, even when she could barely stand.

Alongside her physical training, her mental training progressed along as well. She was tested on a variety of subjects when it came to mental training, from swordsmanship positions and such, all the way to using the environment to gain an advantage over an opponent, such as throwing sand in their eyes. This also made her just want to quit; she wasn't quite the type to try and think of a strategy when you're under attack, she would prefer to just rush in and kill the enemy. She learned, however, that it wasn't as simple as that and was forced to accept that view in a mock battle, where her 'rush in' strategy failed when compared to what she had been taught.

As her training progressed, it became pretty evident that most of her skills lied in the evasion category of things, despite her previous experience in evading things, such as punches or rocks. Her training kept on going and going it seemed like; to her, it seemed like a million years, since she hadn't been a shinigami that long, but in actuality, her training only took twenty to twenty-five years at best. Soon enough, her training was coming to an end and she was told as such by the ones she was training with. To be honest, she was...disappointed, she had become accustomed to this cycle in her life and now it would be over in just a year or so. Despite this, she accepted the fact that her training was over gracefully and started to look forward to finally getting into the Academy. By the end of it all, that was probably the most excited she had been in the past hundred years.

Academy

After all of that training, the physical and the mental, the harsh trials she came to overcome, she discovered that the way to enter the academy was simple; a written test. She was a bit peeved at this, the fact that she was lied to, and when she confronted her trainers about it, she was told that was the whole point, to discover that the real way to enter was to just take a test.

She was told that if an enemy were to appear to you in the guise of a friend and tell you that your mortal enemy was just a mile away, you should check the information first. In that manner, Emiko had failed completely; however, they were impressed with the fact that she was so relentless when it came to actual training and, grudgingly, Emiko accepted this. She was still a bit mad about the lie however; she was thinking that you don't always verify information before going by it, that in some cases that it's necessary to just go ahead and accept that maybe you were told the truth.

Either way though she went on ahead with the entering process and prepared for the day that she would apply to the academy, somewhere around a month after she had quite her training. She didn't stop her training completely, however; she went ahead and continued to train by herself, furthering her power, just in case she was lied to yet again. The days came counting down and eventually, it was down to just one week and, as she suspected, she had been told another lie. She discovered that the test was a test of strength and that she would do battle with someone; whom, she did not know nor was she told. It wasn't like it mattered, if she just kept training she would beat the person.

Just one day before training, she was...shocked; she saw her mother. She was in the rukon district, heading to her usual training spot, when she saw the woman. Emiko didn't know what to do at all...go to her long dead mother, or stay where she was? Her mother wouldn't recognize her now...but surely she would believe her if she told her who she was? She walked towards the woman and..stopped, feeling an ominous presence go through the area. For the second time, a hollow had attacked right in the rukon district.

This was quite odd, in her experience, and it just so happened that the hollow had decided to attack her mother. The woman had no chance and was vaporized almost instantly by the hollow. Emiko was, to put it mildly, mad, and ran at the hollow. Unlike last time when she punched a hollow, this time the beast actually flew back and landed on the ground. Emiko realized, however, that she wouldn't be able to purify the hollow, and was forced to just hold it off until actual Shinigami arrived and killed the hollow off; both of them wondered what was with the recent hollow attacks, but she barely heard them at that time, she remembered her mother dying for a second time, this time right in front of her..she could have stopped the hollow from killing her, yet she didn't.

The exam came and went. Funny, she thought it was at the time, how simple it had really been. Her test had been simple, defeat someone in hand-to-hand combat within one day. You could run away and attack again at any time, but really, she didn't need to take advantage of that; that was how angry she was at the time, the memory of her true mother's death in her mind as she went through the exam. The exam, as it so happened, was finished within just five hours, and as she entered the Academy, she kept hearing about her skill in hand to hand compared to others, and she was slightly interested in squad 2. It was, after all, known for its members proficiency in close combat, but unfortunately, she didn't have the chance to join squad 2; instead, she would drift to squad 3 after her years in the academy.

Her Zanpakutou

At the academy, someone actually managed to get through the girl's rather cold demeanor and make friends with her, Kai. She admired Kai somewhat for the bravery, determination, and confidence that he held, as well as his nice and gentle personality. He was the exact opposite of her, yet the two of them soon became friends and this was not lost on anyone. The two often sparred together, and they seemed to always be evenly matched, although she liked to claim she came on top every time.

The instructors were rather impressed with her as well, especially due to her spiritual pressure that she exerted. She didn't easily disappoint them and the only one that was disappointed was the speed instructor; she seemed to be built to take blows now that she had trained, not to dodge blows, nimble as an expert. Despite this, she still took the regular amount of time it took to get through the academy, and during the years in the academy, she obtained her Zanpakutou, during her third year or so, she doesn't remember when exactly. At this time, she began to value the things that Kai held, his bravery, determination, and confidence.

It didn't take long until she started to actively try in all of her classes, doing her very best, and within a short time, graduation was fast approaching. Towards it, Kai was always joking, probably to hide the fact that he didn't know what squad he wanted to go into, he wanted to be in the same squad as Emiko, but both of them knew that this was pretty unlikely.

So, graduation came, and Emiko was pretty proud of herself, as she should be. She had finally managed to do it, after all of these years of training for it, she had graduated from the academy and would soon be off to choose the squad she would go into. However, in the meantime, Kai suggested that they pop down into the human world, he was one to break the rules every so often, for a break. They did deserve it, after all, they had just graduated from the Soul Academy, but weren't in a squad yet, so they shouldn't be bound by the same rules, he argued.

Shikai Awakes

Emiko cursed her stupidity for going along with his plan to go down to the human world. Sure, they had Zanpakutou, but they were not strong enough to take down a hollow; at least, that is what she thought of her power before the incident. She remembered that it was uneventful that day, the two of them were just conversing about what they were going to do next. One moment, everything was fine, and then the next, everything was pure black, her life torn in two for a third time.

Kai had been talking, asking her what squad she'd been considering. She remembered answering Squad 2, and Kai had to agree that was a good choice for her; he should know, he'd been on the receiving end of one of her punches once. Emiko remembered laughing then; it was always a joy to be around Kai, he always had a way of raising your spirits. Her laughing, however, cut off the very next second when she heard Kai's scream, Kai's scream of pain. Her laughing had cut off and she looked over at him, shocked to see a black, dark, spike sticking right through him. Blood was everywhere, that she remembered, and then she looked to where the appendage with the spike led.

She..didn't understand it. Everything was so peaceful, and one second late, it went straight to hell. Her only friend now had just been attacked by a hollow and was bleeding, almost near death, and she was...numb, numb with fear for the first time; as well as numb due to the fact that she thought Kai would die. Then, that numbness broke when, in the next second, Kai was flung up into the air and eaten by the hollow. Even to this day, she can't bear to remember that event, and whenever she starts to think about it, forces it down.

Bad events always seemed to happen...first, her whole family died and she subsequently killed herself. Then, her mother dies for the second time, right in front of her. Now...now, her best friend in the world was killed in 3 seconds flat by a hollow. At the time, she thought it wasn't right...why should she be punished so much? What had she done to deserve this? This..anger, rage, pain was overflowing inside of her, enough to make her Reiatsu go out of control, raging far beyond the normal levels that she displayed. At the time, she thought that the shinigami didn't stand a chance against her, that it couldn't possibly win with her in this state.

Sadly, she was wrong. As she drew her Zanpakutou and charged recklessly at the hollow, she was swatted aside like a fly when facing a lion. She, however, got up again, charged, and got knocked down. She kept repeating this process, unable to accept any other strategy than hacking this thing to pieces. She kept hearing a voice through the whole thing, but who really cared about that at a time like this? At least, that was what she thought at the time, but that voice she heard was the most important one ever. Eventually, she was so worn out by her useless charges that she just laid there at one point, unable to force herself up again. She still kept hearing that voice..and kept telling it to shut up, all up until the hollow was right in front of her, preparing to eat her just as it had eaten Kai.

Kai...this beast had killed him...she had to get revenge, revenge for Kai. "Isiku...My name is Isiku!" A feminine voice seemed to echo from nowhere, and to her, it seemed like she had blacked out the next moment. This was not the case, however; she had simply entered her inner world. For some reason, instead of the fiery brimstone and anger she expected it to be, it was a rather tranquil field of grass, with flowers here and there. Was this really what her inner world was like? "Ah...so you can hear me at last. Pity about your poor friend." She heard that same feminine voice speaking and turned to look at the speaker.

This must be...her zanpakutou. She had heard that the zanpakutou complemented the user, and now she believed it; Isiku was the complete opposite of her, all frills and girly. Before she could get a chance, Isiku spoke once more. "Use my power. This hollow killed Kai, didn't it?" Isiku questioned, making a fake Kai appear in the field and drop dead just as he did just moments before. Emiko didn't even need to speak for the spirit to know that she would use its power to its fullest.

She left her inner world & opened her eyes, seeing nothing but black. She had no idea at the time, but this was the cause of her Shikai, the blackness being special fog that negated the abilities a Hollow might possess. Emiko barely managed to head towards the blinded hollow, but she did and within moments, it was dead. After that, she fell to the ground and passed out, a smile was on her face, a smile for getting revenge for Kai. He hadn't deserved to die and now he had been avenged. She could only hope..that there was something beyond the Soul Society if you're killed a second time..she couldn't imagine Kai being gone...gone forever.

Squad 2 & 3
Soon after, it was confirmed that the hollow was dead, along with Kai. No one knew what to do, not wanting to punish her too harshly considering what happened. However, after a little debate, she was indeed punished, and she took it willingly. Kai was dead because of her...if she had convinced him to not go to Earth and leave the Soul Society, he would be alive. So, for that, she deserved to be punished, but she didn't deserve to be punished for anything else.

After her punishment was over, she just basically moped around for a while, before cleaning up her act. Kai wouldn't want her to be doing this, he would want her to be enjoying life to the very end, even if she was technically dead already, so it really was enjoying death. So, with what he would want in mind, she chose on a squad to join, squad 2; otherwise known as the special operations squad, and within weeks she was in the squad. Some of her teammates had heard of what happened and were obviously curious about the details, but she told nothing. She would not remember her past life anymore; from now on, it was a new start.

She didn't stay in squad 2 for very long, and soon ended up in squad 3. During her time in squad 3, she just focused on her studies, eventually letting go of the past and making her final personality change, her completely cold, and ruthless in battle, personality change. She was rather average when it came to her studies, except for Kido, Swordsmanship, and Hand-to-Hand, the others just kind of fell behind when they were compared to those ones. She worked her way up through the ranks over the many years though, and eventually made it to one of the higher seats. This was the time when she started to work on her bankai; she had grown increasingly mad about the fact that she was weak when compared to some in the Gotei 13, and so she trained.

It was a difficult process for Emiko, but she never let up. Whenever she failed at materializing her zanpakutou into the physical world, she always reminded herself of what had happened to her mother; she could have prevented it if she had bankai at that time, or for that matter, shikai. In fact, she believed that she could have also prevented Kai's death if she had attained bankai or shikai before he had died. So, she focused on those memories as she tried, every day for ten years, until one day she succeeded in getting her zanpakutou's spirit to show up; it was an incredible feeling, and she wished Kai had been there to see.

After the success, she continued to train with her bankai, trying to improve it all of the time. During her years in squad 3, she refined her bankai and discovered its abilities, until finally she decided that she was at a sufficient level for bankai. She, of course, didn't stop training though, and eventually, when the shinigami started to replace their ranks, they took notice of her. It wasn't often that one attained Bankai, after all, and after a test of skill, the girl had been allowed into the ranks of the strong, as a Lieutenant of the Gotei 13. She was surprised, actually; she didn't think she was Lieutenant material, but she soon fit into her role as the Lieutenant of squad 1.

RP Sample:

"Seriously? You've got to be kidding me..." Emiko commented as she stared at the person in front of her. She had only been the captain of squad 13 for a short while, and already her subordinates were showing that they were weak to her. After all, it wasn't as if it was difficult to take down a hollow or ten, yet the person in front of her was claiming it was. "Look, next time you're having trouble with something, be sure to run and get someone stronger than you," she told him with a shake of her head, then she watched him leave. "Life in this squad isn't going to be easy...is it?" she muttered to herself as the door to her office closed.

She was, however, a little surprised that everyone took her so seriously now. When she had been a seated officer, she was treated with some respect, but she didn't look that old, and her bloody height and weight didn't help combat that fact. The people in her squad, and most other squads for that matter, were able to ignore her appearance though and were able to take her seriously; perhaps that was a perk of being a captain. With a yawn, the girl was just about to head outside and enjoy whatever the day might bring when the door to her office opened again; and a bloody mess walked in. "C-Captain, hollows, and lots of them." the injured man said, before collapsing on the floor in front of her. With an overly dramatic sigh, the girl contacted squad 4 quickly and after doing that, she entered the human realm, heading towards where the 'bloody mess' had been sent to.

Sure enough, what he had said had been true, though the hollows there were rather...weak, to be quite honest. "I go here to clean up gnats?" she muttered to herself with a frown as she glanced around at the hollows. Not a ton, but certainly not a normal amount of hollows. Deciding not to question why so many were turning up, the girl immediately got to work, her zanpakutou making quick work of most all of the hollow. Even the strongest hollow there, which wasn't saying much, didn't last long against her power; after ten or twenty minutes of fighting, the hollows had been defeated. I'll have to inquire about what may have caused this though...or, at the least, inform the other Captains of what occurred she thought to herself as she sheathed her zanpakutou and turned her back on the dead hollows.

You can be captain commander, but you'll have to wait until a little later, since the captains are having a meeting now.

Sorry for the double post, but I've edited it.

I haven't gotten the okay from Izuru, but he's been on since I sent him my PM, so either he ignored it or he didn't see it. Perhaps a PM from someone higher-up will grab his attention.
