An intruder in the SS(Closed after 1st to join)

The sky seemed pitch black and the area in this part of Soul Society seemed to lack all light. The moon, the stars, nothing could be seen now, and a horrible feeling was in the air. A feeling of death and despair seemed to radiate from the center of the darkness. There was a vile horrible reitsu radiating in the darkness as Masquerade was the only visible thing in the darkness. He was surrounded by light, almost as if it was a dream. He had a smile on his mask as he watched about. His staff however was invisible in the darkness. No one would see his trap, and that was his plan. He wanted to kill then leave a message for all that he had returned.

The dark, foreign reiatsu that permeated the air within the Seireitei tonight would be responded to by a reiatsu which was similar in its ominous power and darkness. Its owner, however, bore motives which were quite the opposite of those conveyed by the malicious intent of this unfamiliar but unfriendly spiritual pressure.

"Who goes there?" demanded a deep, authoritative voice. Its origin was nowhere to be seen for a moment until, blurring into view with a flash of Shunpo, Seizon Hakaisha stared down at the masked intruder. His left hand rested upon the saya of his Zanpakuto. This faceless male appeared unarmed, but the Lieutenant knew better than to jump to conclusions; it was very possible this man possessed great skill in Kido, and kept his Zanpakuto hidden.

"Identify yourself, ryoka..."

The masked figure turns to his opponent. His mask seemed to change as it turned to a large toothed smile.The being took a hand to hand stance as it looked at him. it did not speak, it did not even seem to look about. It stared down its opponent as his Zanpaktou flew in the darkness extended its full one-hundred feet as it dance in the darkness.*"I am the nightmare ,that never seems to die I am the one whose rage is for none but you My heart has been betrayed by God now let me see yours. I will reflect the pain of my soul Upon your body as I leave the message for all to see."

[ Kensei's got a point. You can't waltz into the Seireitei uninvited and expect only one fight. We'll have to make this quick so you can get away before reinforcements could conceivably arrive. ]

The masked Shinigami's reponse made no sense at all. Seizon caught the threat, but the whole proclamation was just so bizarre in its melodrama he couldn't quite take it seriously. Nonetheless, this ryoka had to be apprehended; not to mention he'd taken a combat stance as if expecting trouble.

Time to give it to him, the Lieutenant thought.

"Bakudo #30," he announced quickly, setting his stance on thin air a little firmer. "Shitotsu Sansen." Raising his right hand in the ryoka's direction, he drew a triangle in the air with his finger, leaving a golden beam of light in his wake which formed the shape. A large curved spike formed at each point of the triangle before the whole construct suddenly shot forward at high speed, seeking to slam into the masked ryoka's body and pin him to the ground.

Masquerade's mask turned to a smile as his body absorbed the reiryoku. He disappeared into the darkness and reappeared behind the Lieutenant. He smiled at the vice-captain that had tried to pin him down. It was a weak attack at best. No kidou of that level would hold him, an ex-Captain Commander. Masquerade let the darkness around them slice like swords at the vice-captain. If he tried to dodge out of these, spears of light would come down at him like a rain of hail.

Masquerade did not care about what some little kid. Masquerade would kill the child quickly and end the fight. He did not wish to fight the entire Seireitei. Masquerade kept his staff flying through the air on standby as it stayed silent.

Seizon's eyes, much against his will, widened at the sight that met him. The ryoka didn't even flinch - in fact, he absorbed the spell like it was nothing! The Lieutenant had never even heard of such a feat of power, save for the rumours that former 13th Division Captain Jushiro Ukitake had deflected a Fraccion's Cero with his bare hand during the Winter War.

When the ryoka appeared behind him, the mask smiling grimly, Seizon finally realised the danger he was in. It could be that he was in way over his head against this opponent, but then again, he needn't be the one to apprehend him; if necessary he would simply stall for time until reinforcements turned up. With that in mind, the Lieutenant got himself well clear with a burst of Shunpo, appearing on the ground a few metres from where the ryoka had been standing. Casting his glance up at the volley of shining spears that descended upon him out of nowhere, he scowled in annoyance.

Enough underestimations.

"Bleed him dry..." The Shinigami reached his right hand to the hilt of his Zanpakuto, grasping it just as the thumb of his left hand pushed against the tsuba to free the weapon from its saya. "Ketsuen Sakenomi."

As he drew the weapon with a graceful pull, he was hidden from sight by a great plume of opaque black smoke that spewed from within the saya and filled the air within two metres of the Lieutenant. The spears that fell within the writing mass of miasma were simply swallowed up and disintegrated by the deadly smog... From within the impenetrable cloud came the counterattack.

When Seizon emerged, launching himself at the ryoka, his simple Zanpakuto was gone. In its place was a black and red nodachi, seemingly too large to wield in one hand but being hefted effortlessly by the Lieutenant in his right. Encasing his left hand and forearm was an armoured gauntlet of the same jet black and crimson metal. Within mere milliseconds the Lieutenant had closed the gap, and answered the ryoka's attacks with a fierce downward swing of the great nodachi which would cleave the intruder in half from left shoulder to right hip if it found its mark.

Masquerade smiled as he did not budge. He just stared at the boy eerily. The zanpaktou was about to find its mark when from the shadows appeared a staff divided into thirty three segments, held together by chains as it totaled a length of one hundred feet. The staff had blades on its opposite sides as the blades blocked the attack, it seeming to be suspended in the air by the darkness itself.

Masquerade looked at the man that had struck at him as he sent spears of light from his own eyes towards the eyes of Seizon. He had the intentions to kill the boy. And this would be his message to the people. Masquerade finally spoke*"I am the Ex-Captain Commander Masquerade, my goal for today shall be to kill you and use you to show these fools that the shinigami that work under God shall die."*

A former Captain-Commander? And one whose powers had only grown since whenever it was he had left the Soul Society. Seizon was almost ready to admit he was definitely in over his head, but he had no intention of running from this fight. It fell to him - and him alone, for the time being - to stall this pretentious ryoka...

He started by barely escaping the spears of light that erupted from this Masquerade's very eyes. Ducking beneath the lances of energy, he backed away from the segmented spear that had emerged from the darkness around the intruder to block his released Zanpakuto. The nodachi's blade found the Lieutenant's own off hand as he moved away, a thin coating of blood appearing across the red edge of the blade; yet as he prepared to swing, the same black gas that had concealed him when he released flared into being along the blade.

With a mighty diagonal swing, Seizon sent forth a colossal wall of seething opaque miasma towards his adversary. Masquerade would no doubt be able to feel the very reishi in the air being devoured and destroyed by the wave of corrosive energy as it thundered unstoppably through the air towards him. Any projectiles or Kido he used to block it - even his very Zanpakuto - would fall victim to its all-consuming power if he didn't outright evade this wall of death.

Masquerade dissapeared into the darkness as in the same instant he was several feet above the vice-captain. His staff flew to him as he looked at the boy, he had an interesting ability, a power that was death itself, but it was no match for that of Deceit. Masquerade's staff began to spin as he span every segment around him, not getting cut by his own blades as he looked at Seizon. Masquerade chuckled as he prepared.

Masquerade let out a whisper of a voice as his staff glower with dark and light energy. Masquerade was happy to deal with anything that tried to hurt him and this boy was no exception. Masquerade finally spoke*"Ultimate dance of light and Shadow."*With that, a seemingly endless rain of darkness and light rained down on his opponenet like swords in a hail storm. They seemed to search for him, and even avoid the miasma, it searched for his flesh like a beast.

The very name of the attack sent his way set Seizon on the defensive. High-power special attacks had a tendency to be named, and have those names announced when they were executed, and this barrage was no exception. So wide and thick was the storm of blades, however, that the Lieutenant could find no escape; and not even his quickest Shunpo could save him from the occasional slash and laceration as he hopped desperately to and fro in mid-air to keep from being impaled.

When the maelstrom was finally over, Seizon stumbled to the ground. Bleeding from numerous cuts and slashes of varying depth, he shook his head and growled his annoyance at his opponent - then vanished. He was not so heavily injured as to be unable to keep up his top-notch Shunpo speed, and used it to close the distance for another attack. Reappearing behind Masquerade, he quickly dragged the claws of his gauntlet across his upper right arm with a wince of pain and, with the metal tips stained with his blood, turned on the spot and waved his armoured hand in his adversary's direction. From the outstretched palm spewed forth a great jet of black fire, comprised of much the same energy as the wave of corrosive reiatsu that had assailed Masquerade moments before. Wherever the former Captain-Commander evaded, Seizon would swing his arm in that direction and keep the torrent of black flames surging towards him for the next ten seconds.
