Early Morning [Open]

The sun was just beginning to rise in the Soul Society when a raven haired Captain walked out of his manor and headed onto the streets of Seireitei. The air was crisp and cool, and for that Byakuya was glad. Hopefully the day would stay cool, and not be scorching hot like the day before, and the day before that. Heat. Byakuya couldn't stand it. It made everyone sweat, and sweating certainly wasn't attractive. And more importantly, it made it so no one was able to go outside without risking heat stroke. Byakuya had lots of work to do, and he definitely didn't want to get heat stroke. What would become of his paperwork? There was always Lightning, his lieutenant, but he didn't like leaving his paperwork in anyone's hands for very long. Even though Lightning was a good lieutenant, capable of handling the work, he didn't want to take any chances of anything happening to it. Luckily there wasn't any danger of that today. Byakuya had finished his paperwork yesterday (early of course) and turned it in. Today was his day off, much to his relief. And what would he do? That Byakuya didn't know for sure. All he knew was it would be something relaxing.

The Captain walked down the streets, noticing how few people were out. That's why Byakuya loved early morning. Well, that and the cool temperature. Crowds weren't Byakuya's favorite thing, so he enjoyed those moments where he could be alone. Later in the day the streets were always buzzing with shinigami. Byakuya stopped for a moment, and tipped his head back, looking up at the beautiful sunrise. Red, pink, and orange mixed together, with a hint of gold. Byakuya gave a sigh of contentment. It was truly amazing.

"Byakushii, Ohio!", a happy young female voice sounded from in front of them. A girl with the apperance of a 11-12 year old, standing only 5.2, was looking up at them, a wide happy smile being displayed in her cute face. She had necklong pink hair, darkpink eyes and a odd pink blush on both of her bubbly cheeks. She was wearing the standad shinigami robes, white socks and open flat wodden sandals. If you looked very, VERY close, you could see the begging of a chest on her upper body, but it was only if you kneeled down and stared directly at it. A zanpaktou was hanging loosly in its holster that was tied onto its waist. The gauntlet was shaped like a flower, while the handle was pink with a white ribbon hanging from it. Around her left arm, a 11th division vice captain band was placed, meaning she was Yachiru Kusajishi, a small, if not the smallest, shinigami that ever had been apart of the gotei 13. Many meant her high rank was due to her unsual close realtionship with the feared 11th division captain, Zaraki Kenpachi, whom was like a father to her. Kenpachi was most liekly still sleeping, since the only times Yachiru left Kenpachi`s shoulder was when he ordered her to, he went into a very hard battle, or if he was sleeping.

She was carring a white captain haori in her arms, and by the looks of the kanji on the back, it belonged to the 1th division captain. How Yachiru had managed to get her hands on the new and young captain commander, Reikou Yuuri, was anyone guess, but seeing who she was, it would`t come as a big surprise for many. The wide grin dissapeard from her face, and she looked up at Blade, befor pointing up at him. "Hehehe!, you look funny! You have white hair like Shiro-chan and comamnder boobie!". Shiro-chan was her nickname for Ukitake, and commander Boobie was her nickname for Yuuri. It gave a clear picture of how carefree and childish she was.

For the first time in what had begun to seem forever the weather had finally permitted Lightning to sleep well. The lieutenent was definately far from being a morning person, however today a nice quiet walk in the cool and crisp morning air sounded too good to pass up. The heat of the past few days had meant that Lightning was uncomfortable constantly, and sleep.....forget about it. Hot weather had a way of making everything sticky and uncomfortable and that she hated. Not only that but there was also the risk of her fair skin being burnt and even suffering from heat stroke......oh how she hated hot weather.

As she looked around her room for her armband Lightning's light blue eyes set upon the pile of paperwork upon her desk. She had begun to think that the pile was never-ending the earlier day as she sat down to complete them, but now thankfully she need not worry about them. She had decided to hand them in later that day when the others might actually be awake.

A cool breeze blew past the yawning lieutenent as she entered the streets of the Seireitei, almost as if she were being welcomed. A lone cherry blossom petal had found it's final resting place upon the ground but a few steps ahead of her. Even against her best efforts the lieutenant found herself reminded of her captain. Sighing in frustration she wished she could have physically hurt her mind for not doing as she had ordered and stopped reminding her of him at the mear sight of things even remotely associated with him. The lone wolf she had become did not sit well having emotions, nor did she like the fact they were for her captain. Emotions were unnecessary weaknesses or so she constantly told herself, this time however her mind definately did not agree. As she mentally threatened to pummel her mind if it didn't cease annoying her Lightning caught a glimpse of a young girl with bright pink hair racing past with......a captain's hoari. Lightning had heard of this Yachiru, the young and mischievious lieutenant of Kenpachi.


she probably stole it and with that thought she set off in pursuit of the young lieutenant. Turning the corner after Yachiru Lightning saw an unfamiliar white haired man and .....her captain. Lightning approached the three calmly and at a relaxed pace.

Unfortanetly though, it seemed Byakuya wouldn't be alone for much longer. After a few minutes more people had started to appear on the streets, though Byakuya ignored one until he heard a male voice and turned slowly. He couldn't pretend he wasn't surprised to see Blade, the ex-sixth division captain there, but he did his surprise well, as usual. "Blade," he replied in greeting, nodding at him before turned away again. At least Blade wasn't loud and somewhat annoying like Yachiru... he could still have peace. For a second. He closed his eyes and tried not to sigh as he heard another voice, this time more familiar and far more unwelcome. Of all the people to be here now... he'd be lucky to get away in five hours. "Yachiru," he replied, opening his eyes and glancing down at the pink ball of energy. He wondered where Kenpachi was. Maybe he could tell Yachiru he had candy for her back at the office.... Just as he was coming up with a plan to get rid of her, he caught sight of someone out of the corner of his eye. His lieutenant. She was one of the few people he didn't mind seeing. She was calm and quiet, unlike Renji had been, and never got worked up over things. Basically, the exact opposite of Renji. Not that Byakuya disliked Renji, it was just that he was often too loud. "Kaihime," he said in greeting, nodding at her as she approached.
