| Toki ArashiName: Toki Arashi Age: Twenty-two, 22 Gender: Male Appearance: His appearance is rather calm, cool and collected. He does have a sort of leaned over posture and is fairly tall. About five feet ten inches tall. Normal attire for the Quincy is could be whatever he feels like wearing. Usually loose clothing, sort of like this. His Quincy attire once the Bangel is activated is that of this. Personality: - Spoiler:
M.I.M.S [Music is my Savior] A strong believer in this very statement. Growing up always running from the ones that threatened his family with death, he found himself burying his mind and soul in music. Writing was a major part of this. He wrote a lot in a variety of notebooks. Things he usually kept to himself. Nothing that he would want others that weren’t close to him to see. Yet, he would act as these ‘meaningful’ notations that he jotted down were nothing more then a book with ‘scribble’ on it. However it held a lot of poetic insight on himself. His ‘inner most thoughts’ one could say. However the writings that he did were only a portion of how Music influenced him. Listening to what can be called ‘oldies but goodies’ Toki was one to find himself without a care in the world once his headphones were on top of his head. Beats, rhythm anything catchy, Toki was the person listening to it. It saved him. It gave him a new look on life away from the mass genocide that was taking place. It freed him.
Flirtatious Lover Well, if flirtatious and lover could be used in a sentence is when someone describes Toki. Clubs, parties and constant nightlife for Toki was something he found himself to find ‘fun.’ Being a D.J at a nightclub give him some ‘perks.’ Many ladies, would want to spend time with him. Who was he to say no. He spent the ‘time’ with them, on occasions several of them, sometimes without even getting a name. Their name to him wasn’t of importance since he knew he would not see them again. Then again, he sometimes played the part of the kind flirt wanting to go somewhere with someone, only to get them over to a room where the ‘fun’ would begin. Flirtation was something that he was known for. Being a ladies man, having all the girls around him. At the clubs, when he is at the table, it’d be a rare sight to see Toki at a table without at least a girl at his side. He would site with them, party it up and relax enjoying the life that he has right now, hoping to get one of the girls to come home with him.
Laid Back Chilled, relaxed almost without a complete care in the world. Toki is simply all of these. He tends to find himself doing practically nothing, unless he is at the clubs or parties. Sitting at his room, laying down flipping through the T.V channels trying to pick up a decent show to watch. He spends more of his day relaxing or even asleep awaiting the nightlife to come. Though even at the clubs, when he isn’t doing his set on the turntables, Toki seems to be the chill person of the group. All the people around him seem to find him the ‘cool’ person to be around. Sometimes making him wonder why he is so ‘cool.’ Then again stuff like that doesn’t really matter to him. He does him and worries about himself. Few friends of his, mainly from the past and a few from the present seem to get him and his laid back persona. The relaxed, chilled dude that doesn’t give a damn what other people have to say about him. He lives to make his own rhythm in the world.
Don't touch my ice cream!!! Yes, Ice Cream. Really any sort of sweets that are his and he is eating or that he wants to eat. Be careful not to touch them. A angered Toki will appear if you do. No really. Toki is a person that simply enjoys the taste of, well anything with sugar. His favorite being ice cream, more specifically popsicles. He always, even as a youngster craved the taste of sugar and sweets. His ‘obsession’ with the candy and ice cream has gotten almost out of control at times to were that is what he eats for the entirety of the day. This is somewhat ‘odd’ being how the sugar doesn’t effect his body. He doesn’t gain weight from it, or break out and he could eat this all day, and almost never get sick from it. Popsicles are the best way to this lad’s heart. The frozen delight is like a godsend to him and almost always is eating one. The cold ice does what one should expect and cools him down, in several ways. Mainly cooling him off from harsh days, long days and overall boring days. However, don’t come between him and his popsicle, or Toki will get angry. And you wouldn’t like it if he is angry.
Not a Quincy... Now being a Quincy, shows you have pride, honor, a strong resolve in the race you are. You hold your head up high, and feel as though you are strong willed for surviving, and hoping to avenge for the fallen kind of your kin. However, Toki is not like that. He shows very little pride to his Quincy heritage. In fact, the only thing he really has that shows off his ‘Quincy Pride’ or whatever you want to call it, is his Quincy Cross that usually stays hidden inside of his long sleeve of his shirt. Also, other than knowing about the history of his own family and being able to perform some Quincy techniques and owning some items that was passed down from his late father, he doesn’t have much to show or care about his roots. Now this is mainly for two reasons. He is, slightly fearing to come across a death by a Shinigami, therefore he ‘hung up the bow’ and doesn’t show his Quincy prowess around. The second being that he finds it more fun to hand out at night at the clubs, scratching on the turntables, rather then fighting for vengeance over a fallen race. Rank: Quincy Lvl. 5 Sexuality: Straight Relationship Status: Single Armor/Glove InformationName: Amaura Bow Manifestation & Looks: Narimono [Musical Instrument]This bow is something that Toki finds beautiful in its own way. The way it forms, is by the center forming around Toki's hand almost like a gauntlet of sorts. In that center, there is a pole that Toki holds on to to stabilize the Quincy's aim. The beat goes on forever..
The Cross itself is somewhat simple, yet elegant. It is quite a large cross also, being about three inches from the tip to the bottom, and about an inch and a half from the side span. It hangs on a silver chain that Toki wears on his right wrist.
Quincy Cross:Standard equipment for any Quincy, the Quincy Cross acts as the focus for a Quincy bow. The cross need not necessarily be in a cross shape, as Ryūken's cross is a pentacle. Silver Tubes:Silver tubes are small, liquid-filled capsules that store spiritual energy, and are used by Quincy for spellcasting in the same way that Shinigami use Kidō. Like Kidō, they are activated by calling out various commands., but do not require any of the user's energy to activate. Quincy Bangel:The Quincy Bangle is an artifact designed to mimic a Quincy's natural powers. It works by drawing in spirit particles from the environment, much like a Quincy does regularly. It can only be used properly by those who are already adept at forming and directing spirit particles. When activated, it forms a metal bow on the user's hand and gives them an appropriate Quincy outfit to match. The bangle is an unstable and delicate device, which eventually falls apart with extended use. The bow it creates has a huge drawback in that spirit particles must be gathered and charged to be of any use; doing otherwise greatly weakens the power of the resultant projectiles. The arrows also seem to fire erratically, sometimes curving away from their intended target. Furthermore, if shot at the time when the device is at its maximum power, it could explode, killing the user and destroying anything else nearby. Hollow Bait:This item is a small, coin-shaped disk that attracts hollows when crushed. Techniques- Spoiler:
Name: Hyperdemose Cancellation Description: With this technique, the Quincy is able to extract reishi from an opponents attack or from the opponent itself [Only In Close Range; Through Touch] Canceling out attacks and high pressured reitasu, almost something like a force field the surrounds only the user. Hyperdomose is dangerous because each time reishi is extracted from an attack or object the users reishi and the surrounding reishi is added on and disposed of accordingly. The reishi is never duplicated or absorbed only voided out and sent into another dimension never to be retrived. This is Hareru's Bows main ability and can always be used at risk.
Name: Quincy: Letzt Stil Description: The Quincy gains a vast increase in power, absorbing all the reishi from their surroundings into their attacks. It actually deconstructs objects made up of reishi.
Name: Kamizaiten (Godly Veil of Unsightly Flesh) ** Description: With this technique, the Quincy is able to form a field of spirit particles that reflects any kind of reiatsu-sensing skill. In addition, it also masks any kind of item or power the Quincy possesses, making them look like a weak, powerless human, thus becoming virtually invisible to any spiritual being.
Name: Tachiban (Sentinel) *** Description: A strategist's friend. Tachiban allows the Quincy to designate up to five locations where a pseudo-Quincy bow will appear and draw back an arrow. The Quincy can command each individual bow to adjust its angle and fire the arrow it has loaded. Each arrow carries the same strength as the Quincy's regular arrows. The drawback to Tachiban is that more concentration is required to uphold more bows, and even more concentration to actively move all the bows around and fire them. Each bow gets one shot before dissipating.
Name: Tokukonki (Protective Light Wall) ** Description: This technique allows the Quincy to gather spirit particles into a tough shield that protects the Quincy from many kinds of attacks. Although the shield does not last very long (around twenty seconds), it is an invaluable technique that has saved the lives of countless Quincy.
Name: Gritz (Five Construct Limit) Command: A silver rod strikes the five-fingered stone bed - Gritz! Description: This technique uses a silver tube to form a man-sized pentacle symbol which envelops its target, trapping them inside.
Name: Haizen (Heating) Command: Feel the wrath of battle and accept this sacred chalice - Haizen! Description: This technique creates a transparent, rectangular beam of energy from four silver tubes which slices through the opponent. History and RP SampleHistory: - Spoiler:
Two Heartbeats, One Love
Years before since the lovely child that later will be known as “Toki” was born a proud race lived. The race was those who were adequately skilled in using spirit particles, reishi, in a manor that would allow them to create weapons, bows in a quest to fight off the creatures known as hollows. This race was proud of their existence, but another race wasn’t however. Two hundred years ago began what was known as a mass ‘extinction’ especially to that of the race known as Quincy. Few, managed to escape the slaughter by not participating in the fight. Not participating only proved one thing. Their existence meant more to them then their race it self. Out of the many Quincy that were alive before the massacre, only some survived. They survived by running, moving from place to place, changing their identity, but always keeping knowing the truth about themselves.
Over time these few Quincy continued to bring new life to the world. Each new life would bring yet another life, and so on and so forth. However with each new Quincy being born new deaths would arrive. Even though their numbers were smaller than before, they made due with their race. The only true good thing about this was the fact that the Quincy had found a way out. They haven’t been hunted by the Shinigami since the massacre and with that, they felt as though they were safe, at least for now. Over the next several years after the massacre, they Quincy in hiding moved on from their past. Some chose different paths for themselves, attempting to avoid the past that once was. Some choose to keep their bow up and continue to strive for a new height in power, for their race. However now, the story of Toki and his family begins. The hidden lovers that were worlds apart, but found comfort in each other.
Emiko was a young female who was a descendent of a Quincy that had fallen to in the Quincy massacre. Though she did have the blood of a Quincy this was something that she wasn’t aware of until much later in her life. She really didn’t care much for it. Many of the ‘details’ about the Quincy past wasn’t ever told to her. She never once used her Quincy powers, but she had all the potential to be a great Quincy his her parents eyes. Her parents that were proud Quincy themselves, however hid seeking a new life for their daughter. She grew into a lovely young lady, going to school and doing well for herself. In school she met a boy named Haruko. Little did she know they had much more in common than met the eye. They met in a class as he was a new transfer into the school from another district. He was a young man also, and a young Quincy descendent as well.
Like Emiko, he to was a descendent of a former Quincy, thus giving him the blood of a Quincy. His father was a Quincy. His mother wasn’t, but accepted her husband for what he was. His father was open about his past, and didn’t hide anything from Haruko, especially about the massacre. Haruko grew up, harnessing his own abilities and becoming a strong minded Quincy as well. Many years led up to his families arrival to the very district that Emiko lived. His father worked for a business that took him throughout many places in order to market merchandise. Hence why the sudden move. They started the new school year together and graduated two years later, in love. Obvious puppy love for both sides of the family, but they let it slide. No one else knew about each others ‘past’ except from them two. The shared everything with each other. A few years later, they married. It was a special moment, and a chance to start a family of their own.
The wedding only proved that their love was true and even though it was hard to continue to a “Quincy Life” because the knowledge that they are hiding from the Shinigami forces. They felt that, because of their idea to start a family, they needed to think about how they would either hide their races past, or share it with their future child. In fact, the time was near for the two to bring the new life into their family. A day that filled them with such emotion as they now had a tiny little child to call their own. A boy, that they named, Ryouki. The name meant “Cool Air” as the day was beautiful, and the child to was beautiful. They family was happy, Emiko cried with glee, Haruko, smiled as the two shared a moment, staring at the miracle that is known as a child.
A Melody of True Life
Ryouki began to grow. Each passing day for him was a new experience, a new journey into his growth. He was young and as any other child his age, was quite rambunctious. Getting into trouble was definitely a must for the young Ryouki. As well for all children his age. His parents loved him dearly. They continued to wonder what they would do about telling him about the past. They were both indeed part of the past, but the only one of the two that had ever used his Quincy abilities was Haruko. Emika had the blood of a Quincy, but never was known to be one. She preferred to live the normal housewife life. The family was both happy, and content with the life that they had obtained for themselves. However, recently there had been several hollow encounters that threatened their happiness. They did what they could to avoid the beasts, Emika and Haruko mainly doing such an act to protect their little Ryouki, but even that fight, they couldn’t avoid.
The needless fights were always settled by Ryouki’s father, who harnessed the powers of the Quincy and proved that he knew how to use them well. Every time he used his abilities, Emika and Ryouki were always hiding from the needless battles that Haruko took part in to protect his family. A strong Quincy that new many of the abilities that had been passed down from generation, to generation by and being giving to him. He knew quite a majority of Quincy abilities, and those abilities helped him and his family stay protected. The Quincy life had not once leaked out. Though the family did have certain other obligatory needs. Haruko who also worked in the same job that his father worked in, found themselves moving once more to another location. This time, to another district in a region that was well known for its taste is culture. The culture being more related to its music. Ryouki was still young, but old enough to comprehend the rhythmic beats the filled the air. The music was something that was played almost everywhere.
The radio’s of course, but street music was something that Ryouki was always at awe with. Walking up and down the streets with his mother or father, the random street performances seemed to catch his eye on several occasions. He loved the music. The beats, the rhythm, the excitement that filled him when he heard the sounds that made music. He continued to grow. As the years continued to go by, he still knew nothing about his true self. His parents had came to an agreement that it would be best to simply keep it hidden from Ryouki. They figured he didn’t need to know about this at all. They wanted him to grow up ‘normal.,’ so they didn’t say a word about it. School was something that the youngster was, well, okay in. He wasn’t one to enjoy work. He did do good in school for the most part, but the boredom was beginning to set in.
They continued to live out their lives happily as always. Ryouki had gotten older as the time continued to exceed. He was now ten years of age and the three continued to live in the same district. Everything for them was normal. The normality of raising a young boy who didn’t like going to school was a ‘harsh’ one to face, but they made due. One night coming home from a late night family outing to the movie, they were walking toward their car. Hollow encounters had died previously, up until now. The night was normal, until a rather large hollow came out of nowhere and stood directly in front of the three, blocking their path. Over the years, Ryouki’s own spiritual pressure had been increasing giving him a hidden ability of being able to see these creatures. He didn’t know what it was, but to a young ten year old, he was frightened. His father said it would be okay, and stood out in front, telling them to go hide. And with that, Haruko engaged in battle.
Before the battle was even able to start, the hollow used sonido to appear in front of the others who attempted to run away. He noticed this, but didn’t know the maneuver being used. He needed to act quickly, and with that released his bow. Firing a arrow at the hollow it barely missed him, but did manage to gain the attention of the beast. Ryouki’s eyes where opened. He saw his father, and his power. His father performed a symphony with his bow that night, and once he fired off another arrow the hollow was lying on the ground. They felt it ready to make their escape, and turned their back to run away, but as they attempted. The hollow suddenly rose up, and lashed out once more, aiming directly for Emiko. A sudden strike, and she was down. Ryouki screamed. Haruko, was speechless, and furious. He turned again, and shot out another arrow aiming directly at the hollow’s mask, piercing its head, Killing it.
Life was cruel, but they had to now run again. Haruko and Ryouki comforted Emika, as she slowly faded away. Life threw them a turn for the worst in their happy family, but Ryouki’s life was just beginning once again. He knew about his father, but questions would have to wait. They needed to mourn. The sadness filled their hearts. Ryouki heart beats, played a sad song.
The Beat goes on Forever, and I'm an alone.
If growing up now knowing he wasn’t just a normal boy wasn’t hard enough, imagine growing up after realizing you just saw your mother killed by the hands of what you now know to be a hollow. They had to move again, and this time ended up in Karakura Town. He was told everything. About him, his father, his mother. What the thing that killed his mother was, what he really was. Everything. He didn’t really know what to think about it, but when he heard he acted as if it was ‘whatever.’ He was obviously still mourning the death, no the murder of his mother, but he didn’t ever act as if he did. He was still pretty young to accept it, but what was done, was done. He felt the burden, but he had to accept it one way or another. The day came when Haruko decided to finally tell him about Ryouki’s own spiritual abilities. This was, somewhat difficult to do, since he didn’t know what Ryouki’s reaction would be toward it. Yet, he decided it was now or never, and he didn’t want Ryouki to end up growing up without knowing what he really was.
Ryouki heard his father tell him about what a Quincy really was. His mind flashbacked to the moment in time where he saw his father releasing a weapon of blue ‘energy’ and firing off arrows. He was intrigued, yet he was still wondering more, mainly about his own abilities. He didn’t know if he had any, but his father explained to him, that he had the blood of a Quincy, therefore he would have Quincy abilities locked away within him. He just had to work at them. Haruko decided to give him Quincy artifact that would begin his accent into becoming a Quincy. His Quincy Cross. A black, rather large artifact that was the key to his Quincy abilities, mainly his Quincy bow. He looked at it, and found it rather ‘beautiful’ in its own way. With that, his father began to show him about the Quincy Pride. He showed him many things, but first and foremost were the basics.
He learned them quick. His father was all in all a strong Quincy and showed him the ropes. The basic techniques, the utilities that Quincy’s use. The silver tubes, hollow bait, and even another artifact known to Quincy as a Quincy Bangel. He learned much from his father. Learning about using the silver tubes that assisted him on performing Quincy techniques. The hollow bait he found out was a object that forcibly attracted many hollows, and was cautioned to not use it. He kept that in mind as he continued to grow up. During his years learning more and more about his on abilities, his father had began to show him how to use his spirit reishi bow. Learning to manifest his bow was something that was simple, but it did take time for him to get used to it. Learning to use it so that it was not only effective, but accurate. He practiced under strong guidance from his father, until he aged until he was now seventeen. This is when he started to get bored with all the Quincy Pride thing.
In fact, it wasn’t simple boring, but he found other things more interesting. Music was a big influence on him and changed him in ways that his father did not like. School for Ryouki began to get boring, and annoying. Not only was he failing, but he barely showed up to class. His father didn’t know what to do about his actions. He was trying to provide for him, while trying to teach him about being a Quincy, however, he found a way that he would be able to, if anything was to happen to him. Ryouki was someone who began to love the night life. He went out, to any sort of party. His appearance made it so he looked older so that he was able to go into nightclubs. The beats that played from the clubs inspired him to do more with himself other than listen to music. He began to write his own. Things that he didn’t share with anyone, he wrote down his own lyrical, poetic songs. He found himself at home at the nightclubs.
Nights continued to roll off, and Ryouki found himself, now out of school and more of a partier. Though he partied hardy, he did things that weren’t in the typical clubber traits. Eating ice cream for one, something he did almost religiously. As it goes, Ryouki continued to do what he could in his life. His father tried to get him to work on his Quincy abilities more, but he barely ever did. He trained with all the skills and the Quincy Bangel, the device that he found himself liking more than his normal reishi bow. Either way, the training bored him, until one night. The night was normal, however it was after midnight and Ryouki was coming home from another club. He was calm, he didn’t drink or anything. As he was nearing his home, he heard a loud crash, and rushed to see the commotion. Their it was. Another beast, another hollow taking the life of his father. Ryouki, instinctually pulled out his Quincy cross that was on the left wrist forming the bow, and firing of a arrow that shot through the side of the hollow’s head. He had rushed to his fallen father.
This couldn’t be happening to him. Twice now, he lost a parent to a beast, and for what. What did they do to them hollows? Ryouki held on to his father, as with his final few breaths spoke toward him. He told him, that he was strong, that he needed to move on, withhold the Quincy Pride to his own. To hold his resolve high, and to never let it drop. He told him that in his room their was a chest of sorts, that held a manuscript that he wrote down for him. Also, he was told that he had to move on away from this home. To gather his things, and keep moving. Haruko had managed to prepare well for this situation. He had purchased an apartment for Ryouki, and told him to go on their. With his final words, he closed his eyes, telling him that he loved him. He couldn’t believe it, he had to mourn once again. He entered his room shortly after his father was taking away by an ambulance, and found the chest.
Opening it, he saw the book. A well detailed book on the abilities that are bestowed to Quincy. Also, a almost countless amount of silver tubes, and several Quincy Bangels. Also there was a note, explaining to him about the apartment that was bought for him. A few days later, he moved into it. Taking all that was now his to belong toward it. He continued to mourn, but in his own way. The clubs. One night, he entered a club that was surprisingly having a sort of ‘open turntable’ night, that drew Ryouki to it. He had to try it. He did. He killed it. He was amazing, like he has been doing it for ages. Though it wasn’t the best in the world, the clubbers sure loved it. Someone from the club asked for his name, almost extending a job offer to him, Ryouki replied. “Toki.” He began to live out the rest of his life, with the new name, Toki, but with one thing in mind. Though he was a Quincy, he didn’t want to share the same fate as his father or mother. He hid his true self. He wanted to live the a normal life he could never have.
RP Sample: His attacks had missed... Masaru drew his sword in a defensive stance as Alestor prepared a final charge, poised to-- --be sucked into a Garganta. What an odd sensation, to be on the tips of your toes in preparation to strike and then have the rug pulled from under your feet. Perhaps his time was up; would this throat deposit the Rogue back in Karakura Town? No, of course not. Rather than ending Masaru's progress, the Garganta instead dropped him atop an active, bubbling volcano. The heat struck him the instant his body left the portal, and Masaru made quick work to strip out of his thick jacket and stuffy dress shirt, letting the shirt dangle from where it was tucked in and loosely wrapping his jacket around his waist. The waves of heat were stifling, but Masaru was not bothered by the scorching licks of air after removing his top-wear. Compared to the skin-warping burns brought about by the Cero that had blinded him, this volcano's bite was dull. The light playing across his sizable burns served to prove that fact. However, he was not immune to the effects of fatigue, not at all, and this climate would only serve to quicken the loss of his and anyone else's stamina. Masaru walked nimbly along the rim of the crater, taking note of the feel of the crumbling earth beneath his feet, scouring the area for hints of Reiatsu. One particular presence stood out, and the man tightened the grip on his sheathed blade. 'It would seem that I am not the first to arrive this time...' he mused, directing his focus on a Shinigami who was literally within the mouth of the precocious battleground. The Shinigami's form was not as strong as Alestor's or Hiroshi's; rather, it was closer in resemblance to the Arrancar Kodomo. There seemed to be meager platforms to stand on, forged by the earth, but Masaru would not dare dive into this volcano, lest it spew its molten spittle all over him. 'Whoever is behind this tournament must revel in their malevolence... Pitting combatants against each other over a volcano...' Alas, what was Masaru to do about the situation? He could only fight; fighting was the sole method of advancing in this game. Calmly, the Rogue began to draw in energy, preparing a Kidō that would deter this Shinigami's or anyone else's hopes of catching him unaware with the first strike. | |
